Guest essay by Chris Morrison There has been a fresh outbreak of climate scare activists awarding themselves fake Nobel prizes Dr Peter Stott, the scientific strategic head of climate monitoring in Britains Met Office, claims on his cv that he is a “co-recipient” of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. Dr Stott hit the headlines last month with the widely reported claim that 2017 was one of the hottest on record without an El Nino. Since these records consist mainly of imprecise temperature measurements mixed with copious amounts of “proxy” data and stirred with a great deal of smoothing and man-made guesses, the claim needs to be treated with proper skepticism. Falsely claiming to be a recipient of a Nobel prize would not seem to help the cause either. Needless, to say scientific skepticism was in short supply after Dr Stott spoke, The BBC led the way by failing to ask why anyone should believe climate studies based on computer models when they have been almost uniformly wrong over the last three decades. The “Im a Nobel prize winner” scam started in 2007 when the United Nations IPCC was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize (a political award separate from all other Nobels. Suddenly the cvs of numerous climate activists were padded with references to winning a Nobel (often minus the Peace bit) on the grounds that they had contributed to the IPPC climate reports. The most notorious was Michael Mann, of hockey stick and Climategate fame, who in the course of an American libel case suggested that it was one thing to engage in discussion about debatable topics but it was “quite another to attempt to discredit consistently validated scientific research through the professional and personal defamation of a Nobel Prize recipient”. By 2012, it seems the IPCC had had enough, deafened maybe by the thunderous laughter that greeted every fake claim. It noted: “The prize was awarded to the IPCC as an organization, and not to any individual associated with the IPCC. Thus it is incorrect to refer to any IPCC official or scientists who worked on IPCC reports, as a Nobel laureate or Nobel Prize winner”. The weather forecasting Met Office and the BBC have long been propagandists for the global warming alarm. In 2006 the BBC held a seminar composed largely of climate activists that recommended the science of human induced climate change was “settled” and little attention should be taken to given to those who approach the issue with a skeptical view. That decision seems to have prompted the writer Clive James to note recently that the state broadcaster “has spent ten years unplugged from a vital part of the global intellectual discussion, with an increasing air of provincialism as the inevitable result”.

Through historical re-enactments, expert interviews, and Patricks own writings, experience the journey from man to saint. In the 5th century, the Roman empire was collapsing, and barbarians threatened civilization. In Britain, a teenager named Patrick was living a comfortable life as the son of a government official. Despite being part of the Roman Catholic Church, his faith didnt mean anything to him until he was kidnapped by pirates at the age of 16 and enslaved at the edge of the known world - Ireland. For 6 years, Patrick was forced to work as a shepherd and was driven to the brink of starvation. It was there that he turned to his Christian faith and through divine intervention managed to escape. He was reunited with his family in Britain only to have a prophetic dream calling him to take Christianity back to the land of his captivity. Against the wishes of his family and the Church, Patrick returned as a missionary bishop to Ireland and converted thousands to Christianity. He opposed slavers, Irish kings, and possibly druids but nothing compared to the hostility he faced from his fellow Christians. After a close friend exposed a dark secret of Patricks, it is believed he was ordered to leave his mission and return to Britain. Patrick had to choose - obey God or obey man? Ten years since the world lost Patrick Swayze, there's still no one quite like the gracefully masculine good guy. And speaking on behalf of the world, were definitely still mourning the loss of the likable actor who took Baby out of the corner in “Dirty Dancing, ” turned pottery-making into foreplay in “Ghost” and paid the ultimate price in “Point Break. ” Swayze, 57, died in 2009 after a battle with pancreatic cancer, but his life story is retold in Paramount Networks new documentary, “I Am Patrick Swayze” (Sunday, 9 p. m. EDT/PDT. Here are five ways the charming entertainer known as "Buddy" still inspires us. 1. The future 'Sexiest Man Alive' overcame bullying and abuse Swayze's widow, Lisa Niemi, opens up in "I Am Patrick Swayze" about the abuse that her late husband dealt with at the hands of his strict mother, Patsy Swayze, who was also his dance teacher. At one point, Swayze's dad, Jesse, had to stop Patsy from "laying into him" and threatened to divorce her if she continued to harm their son. "Patsy was an example of what happens in families in a cycle of abuse. says Niemi. When Swayze was young, he became an easy target for bullies, because he was the boy in ballet tights. But the man who would go on to become Peoples Sexiest Man Alive (in 1991, when they called him “Hollywood's hunk with a heart”) was equipped to defend himself against his peers. As Swayzes brother Don recalls in the documentary, Patrick finally got fed up with being teased. In fact, Zucker was convinced that there was absolutely no way Swayze would star in his film. He was ready to quickly dismiss the actor who came to audition. But Swayze wound up reading through the entire script to filmmakers. Everyone in the room was so moved by Swayzes performance, they were in tears. Swayze got the part. “His appreciation and his openness were wonderful attributes to have in a partner, ” co-star Demi Moore says of sharing scenes with Swayze in "Ghost. " 3. He ultimately won over Jennifer Grey on 'Dirty Dancing' Before Jennifer Grey and Swayze partnered in “Dirty Dancing, ” the two had worked together on 1984's “Red Dawn. ” As Grey remembers it, Swayze was part of a group who pranked her by setting off firecrackers at her door when she was trying to sleep. So when he was cast, Grey was less than pleased. “Not that guy.
